Practical listing review
A practical Airbnb listing title audit: one useful difference in under 50 characters
Choose one verified feature, write it plainly, and remove details the search result already shows.
Airbnb's current title guidance recommends short, descriptive titles, usually under 50 characters. A title is not a complete property summary. Its job is to add one useful distinction without repeating facts that guests already see in search results.
Start with a feature you can prove
List three features that are both visible or documented and relevant to the intended guest. Choose one. A dedicated workspace, a fenced yard, step-free access, or a particular view is more useful than a broad adjective when it is accurate.
Avoid repeating the city, bed count, or the word new when those details are already displayed. Do not use symbols, repeated punctuation, emojis, or all caps to manufacture attention.
Write three controlled options
Option A leads with the verified feature. Option B leads with the guest use case. Option C combines the feature with a precise nearby landmark only if the relationship is accurate. Keep the capitalization conversational and compare the options on clarity, not excitement.
Before publishing, read the title beside the cover photo. If the title and image make different promises, fix the mismatch instead of adding more words.
Five-point check
- The title stays under 50 characters where possible.
- It highlights one verified feature or use case.
- It avoids details already shown in search results.
- It uses normal capitalization and no attention symbols.
- The cover photo supports the same promise.
